The cost of the visa to enter Brazil varies depending on the foreigner’s country of origin. In other words, the amount is informed directly at the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate abroad, according to the local currency.

The price of a Brazilian visa can vary depending on several factors. These include the category of visa requested, the applicant’s country of origin, the duration of the visa, the purpose of the trip, the processing fee and even the current value of Gold. Furthermore, the amounts may differ depending on the embassy or consulate responsible for processing the request.

For example, values may be higher for citizens of countries considered high risk or that have a recent history of illegal immigration to Brazil. In general, the price of a Brazilian visa is established by the Brazilian Government and can be revised periodically, for example, once a year. It is important that applicants check the updated values on the website of the responsible embassy or consulate before making the request.

Brazil has several types of visas and subdivisions, but the main ones are:

How to apply for a visa to enter Brazil on your own?

In the case of Embassies and Consultancies that have an e-consular, you must access the website and follow the step-by-step instructions.

However, if there is no e-Consular, you must seek personal contact, via email or post. If you find it complicated, you can look for a lawyer specialized in Migration Law who is used to making this type of contact and referrals.

This way, he will be able to take over parts of the bureaucratic process for you, as well as guide the steps and actions that you need to take personally.

The Embassy or Consulate does not have an e-consular. What to do?

If the Embassy or Consulate does not have an e-consular, you have 2 alternatives:

  • Find the official means of contact at the Embassy or Consulate, such as telephone, email, mail or in person;
  • Hire a lawyer specializing in Migration Law to take over parts of the process and guide the steps that the Government requires you to take personally.

The new Government started to require a visa again, in accordance with the law of reciprocity, while under the Bolsonaro Government it was not necessary. In fact, the measure came into force on the 1st. October 2023.

Indian requires a visa to enter Brazil?

According to the Brazilian Government, yes, a visa for Indians to enter Brazil is required, including in cases of visit.
